Andrew Spicer Biography
Andrew Spicer performs live as a one man band, using a laptop computer, accompanying him with drums and bass backing tracks while he sings and plays the guitar. Generating the intensity of a full rock outfit in a compact package. Allowing him to play any venue that a full rock band may not be able to easily occupy. He debuted his one man act at Fibbers Pub in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, in March of 2008, and draws in bigger crowds of fans every time he plays. His live performance is intriguing, curious and entertaining alike.
Andrew has recorded and released three discs independently in a home studio using drum sampling computer software and live guitars and bass. The second of the three, being his first full length album, entitled "Flower Petals & Smokescreens", went on to sell quite a number of copies locally as well as spawning countless fan bootlegs across North America, reaching as far as California. The three singles "Time", "Saviour of the Erroneous Power" and "Flower Petals & Smokescreens" achieved radio play across the Maritimes and on internet radio.
With his new second full length album, "Vacation", he's grown in his songwriting abilities. Showing his ear for catchy pop songs like "Along Came Something I Didn't Expect", and the punky, sing-a-long melody in "Competitive Rats". The moody, retrospection of "It Never Happened" and the funky, soulful jam of "Humblefly".
